This painting is a rendering of a street scene in rural Buyamba, Uganda painted by local artist, Alyssa Parr. Alyssa Parr is graduate of Carroll High School and most recently graduated (Spring 2023) from the Eskenazi School of Art Architecture and Design at Indiana University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting.
Within the past year, Alyssa has showcased works in multiple shows throughout Indiana, including the NSAL annual competition & exhibition at the FAR center for contemporary arts in Bloomington, the 2023 BFA class exhibition entitled Aura at the IFELL gallery in Bloomington, a BFA Thesis exhibition entitled Yesterday at the Grunwald Gallery of Fine Art in Bloomington, the 2023 Summer Shine exhibition at the Fishers Arts Council art center in Fishers, and the annual Kekionga Plein Air competition & Exhibition in downtown Fort Wayne.
Alyssa is now a local studio artist working in Fort Wayne, IN and eager to continue showcasing her art to a wider audience.
